install.jpg Installation - Project Implementation

Our ad-hoc installation services provide a professional qualified team of engineers to carry out a well specified and agreed set of tasks. When we provide a quotation it is carefully qualified and usually quoted at a fixed rate.

Pro Rata Billing. If a job has not been quoted in advance and the engineers are working pro rata, the rates are:

£ 600.00 per day (8 Hours)

Consultant
£ 110.00 per hour
£ 800.00 per day (8 hours)

9-1 (4 hours)
1 hr break
2-6 (4 Hours)
Engineers may choose to work through lunch and finish at 5.00pm.

Travel Time is not charged, but for distances outside our normal operating area, we charge 55p per mile when defined and quoted in advance.

STAFF IT will provide you with full IT support without the commitment and expense necessary to employ a full time IT person. With a dedicated named engineer visiting you at designated times, a remote helpdesk and monitoring facility and agreed review meetings this is an excellent service for clients with between 5 and 50 users.

Pre Purchased Hours
For larger projects it is often sensible to use the STAFF I.T. schemes as a method of purchasing hours. We allow the hours to be pre purchased and held in a bank indefinitely and called off by our engineers when carrying out project work. All work carried out is logged on our system and is visible to clients via their Extranet Login.
All STAFF I.T rates are based on network engineer time. Where a consultant or director carries out work, we reserve the right to charge at 1.5 x rate.

Weald is a registered Internet Hosting Company and owns a large number of servers clustered in different locations in the UK. We offer the complete service, from simple web site hosting with SMTP feed, data backup and backup of mail queue's up to customised dedicated application servers carrying out specific client dedicated tasks.

What is it?
A server fully dedicated to your company usage - full root access provided.
What Server will I get?
Our typical specification of hardware provided for the pricing listed above is:
A Dell 1950 1U Server with 4 hour 24x7 support is our standard rental server.
2GB RAM, Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz and 2 x 146GB RAID 1 array as standard specification.

Additional space and processing power may be purchased and will accordingly affect the rental price.
We can also cater for clients who do not need high specification, hence a lower specification of hardware could be provided for a lower annual rental.

All dedicated servers are subject to a one off set up charge of £ 275.00 ex. VAT which includes ordering, pre configuring and setting up the server in our docklands location. This assumes a standard install of Linux or Windows to include Apache, IIS, MySQL all patched to latest service release. Specific client requirements may be pre configured and should be agreed prior to the server being shipped to datacentre.
Additional Domains and domain parking at £ 19.99 per annum with full DNS support. All our package include:

Weald has a database development facility in house which provides services from complete re-writing of existing databases, merging many databases to one to simple modifications of existing systems, report writing or the creation of new databases for specific client requirements.

Our team is made up of one full time programmer and developer but importantly, we have added depth of experience in terms of business experience and support personnel by including the experience of our senior consultants during the specification and procedure checking phases, then following completion of the work and documentation, our support desk are then trained to support and modify reports and simple procedures.

 

maintenance.gif Maintenance Services - Emergency contracts

A contract requires an SLA - 'Service Level Agreement' which has to be defined by Weald for the client and forms the basis of the contractual agreement. A typical 4 hour contract might say: At the point of calling helpdesk, if helpdesk are unable to get the server to respond remotely and by carrying out simple instructions the client is unable to get the server to a live situation, then an engineer must attend site within 4 hours.

The engineer will be advised of any likely reasons for the failure and in many cases might also be advised to take a spare server of the same type to site.Typical maintenance services operate between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday, though separate agreements are possible where a client requires extended operations.. Our primary intention is that our Maintenance Contract will ensure that you have a swift response and an all inclusive fix. Our contracts are usually based upon insurance type agreements - i.e. for £xxxx per annum, Weald guarantees to respond within a set number of hours, then continue on until the fault is resolved without further charge to the client.

Non Emergency Maintenance - Remote Monitoring
To keep your network working smoothly in 2006 does not take a huge amount. If you are a small company with less than 10 employees it is unlikely that you will need full outsourced IT support. In this instance we can offer remote monitoring through intelligent use of the tools available and have our helpdesk analyse these on a daily basis for say backup and a monthly basis for server utilisation. In addition to this remote monitoring, we would like to visit you at least once every six months for a review meeting as it is desirable to keep IT in mind as your business evolves.

With more than twenty years experience divided between our two senior consultants alone and a number of experienced and qualified engineers working in teams, we are able to take on anything from an independent report on an existing system to an implementation of a multi-national wide area network.

At Weald we have a view that consultancy is to provide expert advice to bring our clients to an informed solution more quickly than might have been reached without our intervention. We have an open view of the IT market place which is backed up by our choice of competing vendors (Dell vs HP) or (Access vs Sage) and we are open to new products and suggestions keeping the clients goals in mind. Our involvement in the procurement process of new software products is usualy advantageous to our clients as typically we can spot older technology being sold as new and will point out when vendors are selling non standard database platforms.

Consultancy is also part of the sales process and in fact many of our sales are won from providing free high quality advice at the initial contact. Weald provides consultation to any new client and to existing clients taking on new technology or operations - and please be assured that we do not actually employ anyone who has a sales background - our approach is only ever consultative.
